Chemistry plays a major role in meeting the global challenges of better medicines for an ageing population, safer agrochemicals to aid food production for an increasing population, and the need for advanced materials for new and energy efficient technologies. However, new solutions must be safe, efficient and, above all, sustainable. This EPSRC Centre will train a new generation of PhD graduates who are experienced in working at the interface of chemistry, engineering, biosciences and business, and have the skills needed by industry. The Centre’s research will include synthetic methodology, green chemistry, materials, microwave technologies, food science, and business development.
