The CDT in Machining Science is a flagship collaboration between the University of Sheffield’s Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) with Boeing, and the Faculty of Engineering. The Engineering Doctorate and PhD students work at AMRC’s state-of-the-art facilities alongside leading experts in machining science, underpinned by academic  training by one of the leading Engineering Faculties. The Centre is strongly industry centric, with projects sponsored and supported by global businesses including Boeing, Rolls-Royce, Sandvik Coromant and Messier-Bugatti-Dowty, as well as leading local and UK manufacturers from across the advanced manufacturing supply chain.
