Fluids are liquids such as water and gases such as air. Being able to understand how they flow is important for just about every facet of modern life - from how car engines work to how we cool buildings. Researchers at the Centre will train the next generation of scientists and engineers, developing advanced computer models and carrying out experiments to understand how fluids flow in more detail. This could lead to a range of advances from being better able to predict changes in the weather to improving our knowledge about blood flows in the body.
