The STREAM CDT draws together skills and resources from five leading research universities (Cranfield, Sheffield, Exeter, Newcastle and Imperial College) to deliver both PhD and EngD programmes targeted at securing the future supply of advanced research and engineering professionals for the water industry. Working closely with industrial partners, the Centre will generate the fundamental scientific understandings needed to respond to a range of challenges which face the sector. Research delivered through the Centre will improve the sector’s ability to provide safe and efficient water and wastewater services, reduce its carbon footprint, improve service resilience and reliability, and exploit new approaches to characterising, communicating and mitigating risk and uncertainty.
