The Centre for Digital Entertainment offers the opportunity to gain a fully-funded doctorate while immersed in the most dynamic, creative industry in the world. The UK holds a world-class position in film visual effects, computer animation and computer games companies. Keeping them ahead is highly skilled workforce, fully up-to-date in the latest research. The two universities include internationally-known researchers, led by the Media Technology Research Centre in Bath's Computer Science department and the National Centre for Computer Animation in Bournemouth's Media School. The CDE's current 50 research students are supported by 35 academics and a similar number of supervisors from leading, start-up companies.
