New guidance to reflect Pathways to Impact change. Public engagement involves activities that bring researchers and the public together. It is more than just meeting an audience and telling them about your research - effective public engagement is about two-way communication, with the researchers listening to and learning from participants.
UKRI held two workshops on the Circular Economy in June 2019 in Manchester (5th June) and London (21st June).
The workshops provided an opportunity for UKRI to bring together multiple stakeholders and facilitate transdisciplinary partnerships. This report summarises the outputs of the workshop.
A new study, commissioned by EPSRC from Clarivate Analytics, clearly demonstrates the world leading impact of EPSRC-funded research. Drawing on over 97,500 publications attributed to EPSRC funding by researchers using the researchfish(r) platform, the study focused on nearly 60,000 articles published in journals covering Engineering and the Physical Sciences during the years 2008-2017. (The Appendices are available as a separate download.)

A circular economy is an alternative to a traditional linear economy (make, use, dispose) in which we keep resources in use for as long as possible, extract the maximum value from them whilst in use, then recover and regenerate products and materials at the end of each service life. To understand the socio-economic impact of its investment in the area of the circular economy, EPSRC commissioned an evaluation study by Technopolis group.
Throughout the UK, EPSRC-supported scientists, mathematicians and engineers are pioneering greener, more sustainable solutions to some of the most pressing global challenges - from ocean pollution to energy and water poverty. Pioneer 19 is dedicated to their work.
