Bids invited through to next round of University Defence Research Collaboration Phase 3
Supplementary content information
Three bids to establish consortia to develop new signal processing approaches have been invited to prepare full proposals.
This round, which follows a call for outline submissions earlier this year, is the third phase of the University Defence Research Collaborations (UDRC), which will focus on Signal Processing in the Information Age.
The programme was launched by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) following the success of the first two phases of the UDRC in Signal Processing.
The first two phases have delivered an integrated programme of research with engagement from strategic industrial partners who provide a commercial driving force to bring research outputs closer to exploitation.
This third phase of the programme will run under an underpinning and applications model. A core grant of £4 million will progress underpinning signal processing research for the duration of the programme (01 May 2018 to 30 April 2023).
Three teams have been invited to prepare full proposals by 16 January 2018 for consideration in March 2018.
This strategic investment by EPSRC and Dstl will deliver internationally-leading research with a range of applications. Potential industrial partners are encouraged to contact the relevant bid directors directly to discuss opportunities as they develop their full proposals.
