EPSRC reopens applications for two Strategic Advisory Teams

Supplementary content information

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) has reopened applications to join two of the organisation's Strategic Advisory Teams (SATs).

SATs provide Theme Leaders at EPSRC with strategic advice to help develop their theme. SAT members can be full or part-time; on a sabbatical or career break; based in academia, industry, the third sector or a government organisation (please refer to the individual vacancy to see if EPSRC is looking for academic or non-academic applicants).

SAT members are not required to act as representatives of their organisation but rather as someone with an expert command of a particular field that is free from bias.

Following the internal shortlisting process for SAT applications, EPSRC has judged that vacancies in two SATs would benefit from a wider pool of applicants.

The SATs seeking further applications are:

Research Infrastructure - Capital

  • Facilities user (Academic or Non-Academic)
  • Experience of strategic management of capital at an institutional scale (Academic and Non Academic)

Fusion Advisory Board

  • Plasma Physics (Academic and Non Academic)
  • ITER and DEMO (Academic and Non Academic)
  • Plasma / material interaction (Academic and Non Academic)
  • Laser Fusion (Academic and Non Academic)
  • Fusion engineering (Academic and Non Academic)

EPSRC is committed to a policy of equal opportunities. Appointments to the Strategic Advisory Teams are made on merit. However, we are keen to obtain greater diversity in SAT membership. Applications from women, those with a disability and members of minority ethnic groups, who are currently under-represented on the SATs, are therefore especially welcome.

To apply, fill in an application form by 17.00 GMT on Wednesday 15 November 2017. If you have applied previously in this round, please do not re-apply.
