Trust, Identity, Privacy and Security in the Digital Economy

The Research Councils UK Digital Economy Theme and the cyber security strand of the Partnership for Conflict, Crime and Security are investing up to £10 million to support user-driven and interdisciplinary research that solves real problems in establishing trust, identity, privacy and security in the digital economy.

Applicants must clearly demonstrate that their research projects have been co-created with user(s) and across disciplines and should address one or more of the following research areas: 

  • Systems and their Ecosystems;
  • Privacy preserving design and Anonymisation;
  • Trusting and Consenting to Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing;
  • Identity and Identity mechanisms;
  • Cybersecurity and its economics and human dimensions;
  • Broad applications of distributed ledger technologies;

We intend a broad interpretation of each research area and there may be topics that underpin these themes; no specific areas are excluded.

To be eligible for this call you must have completed an "Intent to Submit" by 14 September 2015. The closing time and date for full proposals is 16:00 on 13 October 2015.

If you have not completed an intent to submit, you can still get involved in the call by contacting the Principal Investigators listed in the “Intent to Submit” document below, which contains the following information - Principal Investigator name; Institution; Project title; Desired collaborators – of prospective bids. We have made this information available to facilitate collaboration building and we strongly encourage collaboration between potential bids and with new partners, both academic and non-academic (users).
