EPSRC Systems Engineering Workshop
EPSRC seeks expressions of interest for attendance at a one-day workshop on Systems Engineering. The aim of the workshop is to engage with key members of academia and industry to inform future strategy for this part of the Engineering portfolio.
Systems Engineering is an area which cuts across a large portion of EPSRC's Engineering portfolio and stretches out across other EPSRC themes and other Research Council's remits. With the publication of the outcomes from EPSRC's latest Balancing Capability exercise in early 2017, it is timely to consider the contribution that this area can make to EPSRC's future strategy and ensure that there is appropriate support for Systems Engineering.
The objectives of the workshop are to:
- Identify novel Engineering and Physical Sciences challenges in Systems Engineering
- Understand and explore the contribution that this area of research makes to the Engineering and Physical Sciences portfolio
- Identify next steps
The workshop will take place on 17 February 2017 at Polaris House, Swindon. Expressions of interest to attend are welcome from academia and industry. As places are limited, the EoIs received will be reviewed by an internal EPSRC selection process to ensure a diverse representation of attendees across career stages and organisations. Selection will primarily be based on justification of attendance, although the number of participants from a given organisation may have to be restricted in the event of multiple applications. EPSRC are committed to a policy of equal opportunities and will also consider this when selecting attendees
Travel and subsistence costs while at the workshop will be covered by EPSRC. If you wish to attend the workshop, please complete the expression of interest survey at the bottom of the page by Friday 06 January 2017.
