Please note: this is a two-stage call, with Expressions of Interest to be submitted by 16:00 on 16 November 2017.
Up to £1 million is available to fund a single proposal. This funding should be used for the support of core research, flexible fund, support staff including a Hub Manager as well as communications, engagement and networking activities.

Full proposals will then be invited and must be received by 16:00 on Thursday 18 January 2018 through the Research Councils' Joint electronic System (Je-S). The Expressions of Interest will be assessed by an Expert Panel and the Full proposal via an Interview panel.
An independent review of the Supergen Programme was conducted over the period 30th August to 1st September 2016; findings from this review can be found in the Supergen Programme Review 2016 document (PDF).
Due to the success of the current Supergen Solar Hub (Phase 2) with aspects of solar research moving to higher technology readiness levels (TRLs) within Research Councils, the Supergen Programme advice streams and EPSRC Energy theme have concluded that the next tranche of Supergen Solar funding will be in the form of a Network+ grant.
The Network+ grant is intended to continue fostering networks with the wider energy community and strengthen those that currently exist within the solar community. Funds should be used to maintain the UK's solar capacity and initiate investigations in novel and adventurous topics in the research area.
Please refer to the Our Portfolio pages for more information about EPSRC's portfolio and strategies.
