Funding equality and diversity
As a funder of research, EPSRC is committed to attracting the best potential researchers from a diverse population into research careers. To specifically promote diversity and equality in research, EPSRC:
- Supports students, research staff funded on grants and fellows through maternity, paternity, adoption or parental leave and allows work on a full-time or part-time basis in accordance with the terms and conditions of their employment (see section on Grant Terms and Conditions for more details).
- Provides additional financial support to students with disabilities if they incur additional expenses during their training because of their disability (see section on Grant Terms and Conditions for more details).
- Partners with organisations that further and support equality and diversity for staff and students in higher education including Women into Science and Engineering (WISE).
