I obtained a BSc (Hons) in Physics from the University of Strathclyde and a PhD in Physics from the University of Glasgow.
Many molecules possess forms that distinguish them from their mirror images and are said, therefore, to be handed, or chiral. Molecular chirality is of immense important in both academic and industrial contexts owing, in particular, to the vital role it plays in biological function.
My Fellowship research is concerned chiefly with the pursuit of new and useful means by which to probe and manipulate molecular chirality using light.
