Kenny Mitchell is research head of Disney Research UK, professor of computing with Edinburgh Napier University and an Imagineer. His work on real-time vision and computer graphics reaches across all Disney business units with over 20 patent filings in the past five years.
He serves on the business mentor panel and board of Edinburgh University School of Design Informatics and the Bath Centre for Digital Entertainment advisory board.
He is FP7 work package leader for the Future Internet Content project and is a member of the Digital Media Industry Leadership Group and the EPSRC's UK Digital Economy Review.
He has a 17 year track record of delivering technology into world beating video games, such as the acclaimed Split Second, Spielberg's Boom Blox (BAFTA winner), the Harry Potter franchise and most recently contributing to Disney's Infinity $600 million plus toy and video game mashup and is leading the R&D elements of two high profile Technology Strategy Board projects with ILM / Lucasfilm UK.
