Dr Jon-Paul Sherlock is Director of Product Development UK/US in AstraZeneca. He received his BEng and PhD in chemical engineering from The University Of Manchester Institute Of Technology and joined the Zeneca Process Technology Department in 1997.
In 2001, he moved to AstraZeneca and following a period in R&D project management became Head of Process Engineering in 2008. He subsequently moved into more senior roles in drug product development before taking on his current role in 2013. He is a Director of the Britest consortia and a member of the EPSRC Centre of Innovative Manufacturing Continuous Manufacturing and Crystallisation Industrial Steering and Advisory Boards.
Jon-Paul is a Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), was awarded the IChemE Hanson Medal for his article on '10 things chemists should know about engineers' and is currently serving on IChemE council. He has had a very active role supporting collaboration between industry and academia, particularly in the areas of physical processing, small scale continuous manufacturing and pharmaceutical process development.
