Dimitra Blana is a Research Fellow in Biomedical Engineering at Keele University. She studied for her undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering in the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, before moving to Case Western Reserve University (Ohio, USA) for her MSc and PhD in Biomedical Engineering.
The goal of her research is to help people regain or improve their movement following injury. She combines computer modelling with human movement experiments to help understand the mechanisms of movement disorders and design effective rehabilitation treatments. Dimitra is very interested in making science accessible to everyone, and promoting female scientists and their work.
