China

We work closely with the UK Research and Innovation China office, established in 2007 to enhance research funding partnerships between the UK and China. The RCUK China Office facilitates our interactions with our partner agencies in China. With their help we have undertaken a number of joint initiatives with Chinese funding partners over the last few years, notably in energy and manufacturing research.

We have agreements in place with the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). In 2014 EPSRC and NSFC announced a new £20M, three-year programme in low-carbon innovation, focusing on the areas of low-carbon cities, low-carbon manufacturing and offshore renewable energy technologies.
